SEIU has been very helpful with regards to our fight for collective bargaining rights among public workers in NC, a denial of basic rights not found elsewhere in the US. While many unions have stayed out of the South, they have at least lent us a helping hand, more than I can say for others, so I tend to have some sympathy for them. Of course, this sort of thing isn't helpful in any way. There better be some serious soul searching in the organization soon before there is another split in labor.

Congrats to FMPR! I think SEIU is an incredibly innovative union, but they truly are greedy at times. Building density is great, but not when it comes from raids. Raiding is a truly despicable practice. Whatever happened to solidarity? Imagine how much stronger labor would be if unions stopped battling each other, and instead battled the corporations they are supposed to be fighting.
