National Review joins John Birch Society fellow-travelers Rep. Lamar Smith and Sen. David Vitter on Immigration Issues.

Read Lamar Smith ‘s “Obama’s Administrative Amnesty” in National Review, August 2, 2011: http://www.nationalreview.com/articles/273352/obama-s-administrative-amnesty-robert-verbruggen

Nice acronym HALT, for “Hinder the Administration’s Legalization Temptation Act” but a much nicer acronym is DREAM. Illinois is the first State in the Union to enact the DREAM ACT. I think Governor Pat Quinn deserves a cheer. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/08/02/illinois-dream-act-signed_n_915434.html#s320008&title=Illinois_Dream_Act.
Illinois' DREAM ACT is a positive step forward, toward a sane immigration policy. No public tax payer money will be used. Scholarships will be privately funded.

Rep. Smith’s HALT is strongly backed by "Choose Freedom-STOP Illegal Immigration” action project at JBS.org--- the John Birch Society site. Can you spot a JBS fellow traveler here? Add Senator David Vitter's (R-Louis.) name to the fellow traveler's list. He introduced S. 1380, a Senate version of Smith's HALT Act. So far, Rep. Smith has 24 cosponsors in the House and Sen. Vitter two cosponsors in the Senate, according to Larry Greenley's July 25, 2011 JBS article, "Rep. Smith Seeks to HALT Obama's 'Backdoor Amnesty.'

I am pleased that Illinois's Dream Act and the federal 'prosecutorial discretion' policy working together for good outcomes for illegal or undocumented young people.
